Panoramas

In the latter part of the 19th century and up until about 1920, panoramic photographs were often commissioned by municipalities as a marketing tool to attract new residents and / or businesses to the area. Sometimes these were published as fund-raisers usually celebrating a town or county’s milestone anniversary. The two photographs displayed here were taken in the early 1900’s, but are not true panoramic. If you look closely, the lines where several photos were joined to construct each print can be seen.
